About the Role

This position plays a crucial role in assisting the management of privacy incidents and breach management, as well as Data Subject Request (DSR) processes for the privacy program at Flipkart Group.

The ideal candidate will report to the Privacy SME, who oversees the management of privacy requirements across Flipkart and its subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Incident Management: Contribute to risk identification, risk mitigation, and cross-functional responses to privacy incident management.
  • DSR Support: Participate in and support privacy incident management resolution activities, analyzing incident trends to help identify preventive controls for safeguarding personal information and brand reputation.
  • Documentation: Ensure incident records are documented with thorough and accurate supporting evidence.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Capture root causes, incident themes, lessons learned, and preventive controls for analysis and mitigating future risks.
  • Communication: Establish and maintain open lines of communication with relevant stakeholders and authorities as needed.
  • Program Progress: Update the Program lead on program progress, gaps, and strategies.
  • Compliance Updates: Ensure appropriate escalation and communication of compliance matters to the Program lead.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of data protection and privacy laws in India and other international laws such as EU GDPR, Middle-East would be preferred.
  • Operational Aspects: Handle operational aspects of privacy and maintain the Privacy Business Continuity Process.
  • Individual Rights: Manage individual rights requests and privacy complaints.
  • Records Management: Support the implementation of the global records management program.
  • Incident Analytics: Conduct incident and DSR analytics to provide visibility to leadership on trends and create a future roadmap for changes.
  • Reporting and Notifications: Handle reporting to authorities, notification to data subjects, and monitoring DSR requests, supporting continuous improvement efforts for the program at the group level.

Qualifications and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in law or information technology with a minimum 2-5 years' experience working in E-commerce, Technology/Product/IT organization sectors in large organizations is required. Experience in incident management, DSR processes, and procedures, proficient in incident response processes, good SQL/PL SQL experience for data analysis, data profiling, and reverse engineering, experience in data protection and data security measures, knowledge of Privacy and Security tools, working knowledge of industry-standard risk, governance, and information security standard methodologies, professional credentials such as CIPT, CIPM, CIPP would be an advantage, excellent interpersonal skills, and strong background in information security and technology.

International Environment: Self-starter, able to work independently, experience to operate within an international environment with a diversity of cultures, and fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
