We're seeking a highly skilled Sr. Data Engineer to join our team at Nielsen. As a key member of our data engineering team, you'll play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data systems that drive business growth and innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable, reliable, and cost-effective data solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy data-driven applications and services.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, reusable code components and libraries that can be leveraged by multiple project teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in big data, cloud computing, and data engineering.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and contribute to the growth and development of the team.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of data architecture and infrastructure to support business needs.
  • Work closely with data scientists and analysts to develop and deploy data-driven solutions that drive business insights and decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehouses to support business intelligence and analytics.
  • Collaborate with product owners to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions and provide leadership in the design and architecture processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 4-8 years of experience in information technology solutions development, with a strong focus on cloud computing and big data.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills in troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Ability to provide solutions utilizing best practices for resilience, scalability, cloud optimization, and security.
  • Experience with big data processing tools and languages, such as Apache Spark, Scala, and Hadoop.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS, and containerization technologies, such as Docker.
  • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux OS, commands, shell scripting, and programming languages, such as Java, Python, and Scala.
  • Agile scrum experience in application development and strong knowledge of GitLab/Bitbucket.
  • AWS Certification is a plus.
