Job Title: Senior Site Reliability Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at Calyptus.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building and maintaining reliable, scalable, and high-performance products, with expertise in Ruby programming and AWS cloud services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain reliable, scalable, and high-performance products and services.
  • Develop and maintain code in Ruby, leveraging AWS services for infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Lead EKS migration projects, ensuring smooth transition and minimal disruption to services.
  • Perform in-depth troubleshooting of Linux systems, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
  • Engage with customers to understand their requirements and provide timely support and solutions.
  • Maintain and enhance existing products, implementing new features and improvements as needed.
  • Utilize AWS expertise to optimize and manage cloud resources for cost-effectiveness and performance.
  • Adapt and transition Ruby scripts to other scripting languages as needed for specific project requirements.
  • Implement infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, promoting DevOps practices for automation and efficiency.
  • Work with Kubernetes and Docker to deploy and manage containerized applications.
  • Manage databases, including both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB), ensuring data integrity and performance.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining products in a production environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Ruby programming language, with hands-on experience in AWS cloud services.
  • Experience with EKS migration projects, including planning, execution, and post-migration support.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
  • Customer-facing experience, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, etc.
  • Willingness to adapt Ruby scripts to other scripting languages as needed for project requirements.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and configuration management tools.
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes and Docker for container orchestration and management.
  • Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB or PostgreSQL.
  • Ability to work independently as an individual contributor, taking ownership of projects and driving them to completion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering reliable and scalable solutions.
