A network security engineer is required to join a team responsible for the deployment and planning of network infrastructure in various regions.

The team's responsibilities include deploying and delivering network/security projects and requests to enhance the client's infrastructure, meeting current and future business demands. Key skills and qualifications are:

  • Good level of Cisco Routing & Switching
  • Strong CCNA or CCNP certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Fortinet Firewalls
  • Firewall Migration experience, FortiAnalyzer, FortiConverter, FortiManager.
  • Ability to handle numerous separate projects concurrently
  • A very organised individual.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail.
  • Analyse, review and understand network topologies.
  • Coordinate multiple projects, change management and governance efficiently working both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Good understanding of networking principles,
  • Good documentation skills using MS Office suite and Visio
  • Good customer facing skills with the ability to keep the customer informed at all times and understand their requirements

The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience as a senior project engineer in a professional environment.

Desirable skills include:

  • Experience with Cisco ACI
  • Fortinet NSE4 Certification or above
  • Experience with EVPN
  • Checkpoint certification or equivalent experience
  • Fortinet certification or equivalent experience
  • Load Balancing Experience (F5)

The role involves several key responsibilities including:

  • Planning, managing and deploying technology changes to support DC services
  • Deploying LAN infrastructure to support end user services requirements
  • Including patching schedules for facilities to cable network equipment
  • Diagrams for Network Operations
  • Inventory management

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating implementation plans for RFCs to a high level of detail.

  • Documenting pre and post checks for change verification purposes
  • Understanding and documenting back out plans, clearly identifying back out points.
  • Identifying points of no return

The role also involves supporting the stability and uptime of essential services by planning changes with a documented best approach mindset.

  • Identifying where changes can be completed with zero downtime to hosted services.
  • Planning and implementing changes with a cost effective resource strategy.
  • Identifying, understanding and documenting change risks and mitigation tactics.
  • Identifying, understanding and documenting impact of planned technology changes, including documentation expected output from verification.

The role requires maintaining infrastructure database and completing network diagrams to a high standard.
