Business Continuity Specialist

The Business Continuity Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the uninterrupted operation of critical IT services and business processes. This individual will execute and support the enterprise IT disaster recovery and crisis management process, with the objective of resuming Enterprise Critical I/S services and business processes at agreed-upon service and resumption levels.

• Develops and implements comprehensive business continuity plans and procedures; reviews, revises, and expands existing plans and protocols to ensure alignment with emerging risks.
• Develops, maintains, and implements enterprise-wide disaster recovery plans, risk assessments, and application and technical strategies; collaborates with other teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment.
• Conducts thorough risk assessments for various departments and functions; analyzes potential business impact of unpredictable business interruptions, such as natural disasters, security breaches, legal claims, and market disruptions.
• Drives alignment of IT organization priorities and plans with key business objectives; identifies areas for improvement and implements changes to optimize business continuity.
• Identifies, troubleshoots, and implements recovery operations and methods; enables the company to function at limited or partial capacity in the event of infrastructure damage or destruction.
• Creates and facilitates regular practice drills for plan execution; develops and tracks program metrics to demonstrate activities and progress.
• Reviews, configures, and maintains business continuity and crisis management tools and systems; ensures compliance with established policies and standards.
• Coordinates with health, safety, and security staff and local, state, and federal agencies; aligns the organization's emergency management plan with established best practices and community standards.
• Supports the response to a business disruption to manage response coordination and communications; performs other duties as assigned to ensure business continuity.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Certified Disaster Recovery Professional (CDRP)) are highly desirable.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT disaster recovery and business continuity; prior experience in a similar role or in a related field is essential.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong knowledge of business continuity planning principles, methodologies, and tools; understanding of industry trends and emerging risks.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines; adaptability and flexibility in responding to changing circumstances.

This role offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits program.
