Senior Oracle Exadata Database Administrator Job Description

The Senior Oracle Exadata DBA will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical Oracle RDBMS systems, including Exadata and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), to ensure availability and consistent performance for clients.

This is a hands-on position requiring solid technical skills, cloud migration experience, and excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and sustain multiple clients across various Oracle versions and platforms.
  • Ensure operational readiness (security, health, and performance) for both on-premises and cloud-based Oracle environments.
  • Administer and optimize Oracle Exadata systems (compute nodes, storage cells, InfiniBand).
  • Manage Oracle databases on OCI, including provisioning, patching, backup, and recovery.
  • Lead and support end-to-end cloud migration initiatives from on-premises to OCI.
  • Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions (RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate).
  • Monitor and tune performance using AWR, ASH, OEM, and SQL tuning tools.
Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of production database support.
  • Hands-on experience supporting large-scale database environments.
  • Proven experience with Oracle Exadata systems.
  • Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, and Grid Infrastructure.
  • Experience with Oracle Multitenant (CDB/PDB).
