Job Brief

This position is responsible for delivering high-quality output through efficient product firmware testing. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

  • The selected individual will be responsible for executing test activities for sustenance releases, addressing field issues, feature enhancements, and critical defect fixes using a mix of white box and black box testing.
  • They will also be involved in the development of test cases from scratch for optical performance tests.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Scope, plan, and execute test strategies in an Agile environment.
  • Collaborate with HW, ASIC, FW, ODVT, and SW teams to identify and implement practical fixes that need to be merged into the development codebase.
Technical Requirements:
  • BS/MS with a minimum of 8 years' experience in telecom product testing, including embedded telecommunications systems, transponder muxponder, ROADM DWDM technologies, and relevant standards (OTN SONET SDH ETH).
  • Knowledge of next-generation client grey optics and line side coherent optics QSFP-DD OSFP capable of transporting various rates of traffic (100G 200G 400G 800G etc).
  • Experience working in a cross-functional product development environment involved in testing carrier-class telecommunication products.
  • Experience working collaboratively with a geographically separated test team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Development of test strategy, test plans using system requirements, participating in requirement reviews, design reviews, and test plan reviews.
  • Using test equipment Optical analyzer power meter VOA OSA Optical Switch Wave shaper EDFAs Traffic generators.
  • Using defect tracking tools and test repository tools applications.

Requirements:

  • Python knowledge is required, with Pytest being an added advantage.
  • Candidate must be a quick learner and self-starter, energetic, flexible, and positive.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills are critical.
  • Experience with JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, software version control GIT, bug tracking systems is required.
