Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team. As an Excitation System Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical circuit drawings, BOMs, databases, control logics, and graphics for excitation systems, protection systems, and synchronizing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical circuit drawings, BOMs, databases, control logics, and graphics for excitation systems, protection systems, and synchronizing systems.
  • Supervise the assembly of excitation systems, protection systems, and synchronizing systems.
  • Perform FAT, SAT, and start-up for excitation systems, protection systems, and synchronizing systems.
  • Supervise installation work at site.
  • Prepare excitation servers/workstations.
  • Prepare field terminal details and cable schedules.
  • Perform heat-run tests, high-potential tests, and IR tests for generator excitation systems.
  • Verify, calibrate, and functionally test I/O interfaces to field devices.
  • Perform on-site testing for dynamic performance of excitation control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and customer safety and security requirements.
  • Foster smooth collaboration and communication with project stakeholders.
  • Support project managers for material ordering and vendor management.
Requirements
  • B. Tech / (Electrical, EEE, I&C, E&I) is essential.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in generator/motor excitation systems.
  • Knowledge of protection and synchronizing systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with switch and router configuration.
  • Advanced troubleshooting, problem-solving, decision-making, and planning skills.
  • Proficiency with ISA and SAMA logic symbols, electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Proficiency with configuring databases, designing control logic, and HMIs of one or more DCS platforms is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Excellent language and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and commissioning documents.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
  • Ability to interface with vendors and sub-contractors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working for a major excitation manufacturer (GE, Siemens, Westinghouse, ABB, Alstom, Toshiba, Andritz, Basler, etc.).
  • Experience in designing and commissioning Brushless and Static Excitation Systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical protection and synchronization processes for generators.
  • Familiarity with IEEE standards for Excitation Systems for large turbine generators.
  • Ability to design standard electrical schematics like AutoCAD/EPLAN/SEE.
