Infrastructure Architect

We're seeking an innovative and experienced Infrastructure Architect to design and implement our cloud platform on GCP from scratch. This role requires architecting the foundation that will scale from thousands to millions of property measurements.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design a robust cloud infrastructure using GCP services, making crucial decisions on everything from network topology to data encryption strategies
  • Implement a CI/CD pipeline that enables rapid deployments, reducing deployment times from 30 minutes to sub-5 minutes
  • Build infrastructure-as-code foundation using Terraform, establishing patterns that will be used for years
Security & Compliance Architecture
  • Lead our SOC2 compliance journey by integrating security into every layer of our infrastructure
  • Implement customer-managed encryption and zero-trust networking as foundational principles
  • Create automated security scanning and remediation systems that make compliance invisible to developers
Platform Creation
  • Design a self-service platform that enables developers to provision infrastructure in minutes, not days
  • Create golden paths that make the secure, scalable choice the default choice
  • Develop observability systems that give developers superpowers in production
Scaling Strategies
  • Architect systems that can handle 100x growth without major rewrites
  • Bolster cost optimization - making smart resource decisions early
  • Create disaster recovery and backup systems before they're needed

Key Requirements:

  • Deep expertise with GCP services and cloud architecture
  • Strong experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and container orchestration
  • Proficiency in Go or Python for automation
  • Understanding of security best practices and compliance frameworks
  • Track record of building platforms that scale
