Medical Coding Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Coding Specialist to join our team.

  • To be successful in this role, you will need to have 5-7 years of experience as a Medical Coder and a Medical coding or certification program (CPC) is mandatory.
  • A Bachelor's degree with pre-health career track is preferred but not necessary. What is more important is your ability to work accurately and efficiently in this role.

This role requires strong administrative writing skills, reporting skills, organizational skills, and record-keeping skills. You should also have strong Microsoft Office skills and be able to work with professionalism, confidentiality, and organization. Additionally, you should have solid oral and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coding accuracy: Ensure that all codes are accurate and sequenced correctly in accordance with government and insurance regulations.
  • Coding compliance: Comply with medical coding guidelines and policies.
  • Document review: Receive and review patients' charts and documents for verification and accuracy.
  • Information gathering: Collect information made by the Physician from different sources to prepare monthly reports.
  • Negligence analysis: Examine any medical malpractice that has been reported by analyzing and identifying the medical procedures, diagnoses or events that lead to the negligence.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience as a Medical Coder.
  • Medical coding or successful completion of a certification program (CPC).
