Splunk Engineer Job Description

Job Title: Senior Splunk Engineer. We are seeking an experienced Senior Splunk Engineer to join our team.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing Splunk infrastructure, ensuring efficient deployment and maintenance across various platforms. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Splunk administration and development, with experience in setting up and configuring Splunk Indexer, Search Head, Deployment Server, Heavy Forwarder, and Universal forwarder.

  • Setup and configuration of Splunk Indexer, Search Head, Deployment Server, Heavy Forwarder, and Universal forwarder.
  • Standardized Splunk Forwarder Deployments, configurations, and maintenance across UNIX and Windows platforms.
  • Troubleshoot Splunk server and Forwarder problems and issues.
  • Design and maintain production-quality Dashboards using Splunk's visualization capabilities.
  • Expertise in parsing, indexing, and searching concepts including Hot, Warm, Cold, and Frozen bucketing.
  • Proficiency in using regex to extract fields from log files.
  • Experience with Actuate Reporting, Development, Deployment, Management, and Performance Tuning of Actuate Reports.
  • Monitor Splunk infrastructure for capacity planning and optimization and support Splunk on Linux and Windows-based platforms.

  • Certifications (good to have):
  • Splunk Certified Power User
  • Splunk Certified Admin

Required Skills:

  • Exposure towards MongoDB/Docker services
  • Proficiency in Python and creating customized scripts
  • Worked on data analytics projects
