Senior Quality Assurance Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned senior quality assurance specialist with expertise in manual and automation testing. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building scalable automation frameworks, ensuring high-quality product delivery, and mentoring junior team members. They will collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts to design and implement effective test strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver and BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin). This includes creating reusable step definitions and implementing Page Object Model (POM) for scalable and maintainable automation.
  • Perform both manual and automated testing to ensure product quality across web, API, and integration layers. This involves writing feature files with clear, business-oriented scenarios and maintaining reusable step definitions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, define acceptance criteria, and ensure test coverage. This includes identifying, documenting, and tracking defects, providing detailed root cause analysis.
Required Skills & Expertise

(Core QA Automation Skills)

  • Selenium WebDriver: Advanced knowledge of WebDriver APIs, custom waits, element handling, and synchronization issues.
  • BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin): Writing business-readable feature files and mapping steps correctly for reusability and modularity.
  • Java (or framework language): Strong OOP concepts, clean code practices with SOLID principles, and exception handling.
Framework & Layer-Specific Skills
  • Step Definitions: Designing high-level steps without mixing UI locator logic and ensuring modularity and reusability.
  • Page Object Model (POM): Strong understanding of POM & Page Factory, writing maintainable locators, and encapsulating UI interactions.
  • Core Framework (Wrappers, Waiters, Driver handling): Building wrapper methods around Selenium APIs, implementing custom waits, and extending WebDriver with custom elements.
Additional Skills
  • Hands-on experience with manual testing (functional, regression, smoke, UAT).
  • Experience in API testing using Postman/RestAssured.
  • Strong understanding of test planning, test design, and defect management.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in QA, with at least 2+ years in automation testing.
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
