Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to design and develop state-of-the-art test rigs for our gas power division.

The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and analyzing static and rotating test rigs, as well as test facilities covering piping and support structures analysis or evaluation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design variety of test rigs and associated test facility systems.
  • Closely work with the team members and Technical Lead on design activities to ensure quality of work.
  • Interact with Suppliers and manufacturers during procurement and manufacturing phases.
Required Skills and Qualifications

A BE/BTech or ME degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline from a reputed university, is required. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in design and analysis, especially focusing on rotating equipment and structures component design, turbine compressor rotor engineering, power plant knowledge, fluid-structure interactions, industrial machine manufacturing, instrumentation, and multi-disciplinary laboratory testing skills, is essential.

Working experience with design and analysis tools, including ANSYS Classic, ANSYS WB, Unigraphics, and other structural and fluid analysis software, is also required. Familiarity with PLM and standard NPI or equivalent processes is desired.

Benefits

Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Experience with CFD applications for aerodynamics and multiphase flows analysis, using commercial CFD packages like UG, ICEMCFD, and CFX, is also desirable. A graduate-level experience in numerical methods and CFD techniques is preferred. The ability to mentor early design, Facility Engineers, lab Specialists, and commitment to customer, teamwork, and team success are also essential.
