Senior SSD System Design Engineer

Transform Information into Intelligence
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence. We are seeking a seasoned engineer to join our SSD System Engineering team, which plays a crucial role in our Client & Consumer SSD development and validation process.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Ownership: Provide technical guidance to engineering teams, update upper management on development progress, and resolve technical issues.
- Technical Interface: Collaborate with internal engineering teams, vendors, marketing, FAE, and end customers.
- Industry Expertise: Stay up-to-date on new technologies and articulate technical paths for implementing complex system requirements.
Requirements Analysis
- Assess product requirements and finalize with the SBU.
- Review and challenge product feature proposals and work with stakeholders to bring them to closure.
- Assess product requirements to influence hardware design and suggest Design for Testability.
Technical Program Management
- Work with Technical Program Managers to generate schedules for product delivery.
- Deliver products to the BU meeting TSM objectives and manufacturing guidelines.
Influence Process
- Conduct Lessons Learned, FMEA's, Failure analysis, and Design reviews during product development.
- Generate and update design process and product design documents.
Test Implementation
- Review and recommend HW Validation and characterization methodologies.
- Drive the maturity of FW and SW influencing HW output and performance.
Production and Field Support
- Work with production teams to influence manufacturing.
- Partner with factory to resolve production gating issues.
- Work with the field to resolve field-related issues from customers.
Qualifications and Skills/Capabilities
- BE with 15+ years or M.Tech with 12+ years in Computer Science, Electronics/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience in leading engineering resources on NPD and system-level debug.
- Knowledge of NAND/SSD and good understanding of protocols PCIe & NVME.
- Good understanding of product storage interface specifications and their implementation.
- Exposure to Hardware design, High Speed designs, ability to read and understand FW and SW from system architecture perspective.
- Ability to analyze problems, diagnose to root cause, and apply corrective actions.
- Ability to mentor and guide.
