Job Title: Dam Break Analysis Specialist

The position requires a high level of expertise in dam break analysis and emergency planning. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in hydrological and hydraulic modeling, as well as a deep understanding of the principles of flood routing and inundation mapping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in Dam Break Analysis: The candidate should have a proven track record of conducting comprehensive dam break analyses, including the development of Emergency Action Plans (EAPs).
  • Flood Routing Studies: Experience in performing integrated flood routing studies for cascades of reservoirs is essential.
  • Inundation Mapping: The candidate should have a strong background in inundation mapping, including the preparation of detailed maps and reports.
  • Training and Capacity Building: The ability to design and deliver customized training courses on dam break analysis, inundation mapping, and EAPs is crucial.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills are necessary for facilitating meetings and workshops with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • A Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of experience in hydrological and hydraulic modeling, including experience with MIKE, HEC-HMS, or other advanced modeling tools.
  • Proven experience in dam break analysis, flood routing, and inundation mapping.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
