We invite you to join our team as a skilled Music Teacher, where you will have the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adults with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement engaging music lessons tailored to various learning styles and abilities, including students with autism, physical disabilities, learning difficulties, or emotional/behavioural challenges.
  • Utilize adaptive techniques such as assistive technologies, visual aids, instruments, and alternative communication methods to support student participation.
  • Promote music as a means of self-expression, communication, and emotional regulation.
  • Collaborate with occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other specialists to integrate therapeutic goals into musical activities.
  • Assess student progress using tailored benchmarks; maintain accurate records and contribute to Individualised Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and encouraging classroom environment; manage behaviour sensitively in line with our positive behaviour support policies.
  • Organise performances, music therapy sessions, and school-wide musical events to showcase students' abilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Carnatic/Hindustani Music or equivalent qualification.
  • 3-7 years of experience working with children in a mainstream school or special school setting.
  • Teaching qualification or experience in special education is preferred.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and adaptive music education.
  • Ability to play an instrument and facilitate group music singing.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude.
