Job Title: Senior Data Protection Specialist
OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Data Protection Specialist to join our team in a data center environment. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in backup tools, tape libraries, and disaster recovery solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Configure and manage backup systems for regular data backups, ensuring seamless data protection and minimal downtime.
- Troubleshoot issues related to backup jobs and tape libraries, minimizing the impact on business operations.
- Test backup and recovery processes to guarantee data integrity and accessibility.
- Maintain documentation of backup procedures and recovery plans, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing among teams.
- Collaborate with IT teams on data protection initiatives, driving innovation and best practices.
- Monitor backup systems for performance and capacity, optimizing resource utilization and improving overall efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 9 years of experience in backup engineering within data centers.
- Strong knowledge of backup tools (e.g., Veritas, Veeam, Commvault, Networker).
- Experience with tape libraries and data deduplication.
- Relevant certifications are a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
