  •     Job Description: The Head Payable is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the accounts payable function. This role requires strategic and operational leadership to manage vendor payments, team operations, process improvement, and compliance.
  •     Key Responsibilities:
    •       1. Payment Processing: Oversee timely and accurate processing of all payments, vendor invoices, and expense reports.
    •       2. Policy Development: Develop, implement, and monitor payables policies and procedures for efficiency, compliance, and control.
    •       3. Team Leadership: Lead accounts payable team, including hiring, training, goal setting, and ongoing development.
    •       4. Invoice Review: Review, validate, and approve invoices; ensure adherence to company policies, contractual terms, and regulatory requirements.
    •       5. Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships and resolve payment disputes or queries.
    •       6. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and reconciliations; oversee month-end and year-end closing processes for payables.
    •       7. Process Optimization: Optimize payables processes, automation, and risk prevention controls.
    •       8. Performance Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and report on payables metrics: aging, cash flow, forecasts, and performance.
    •       9. Collaboration: Coordinate with procurement, treasury, and accounting teams to ensure alignment and timely payments.
    •       10. Audit Support: Support financial audits with documentation and process narratives.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CA/MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of accounts payable experience with at least 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
  • Strong expertise in payables processes, team leadership, and compliance management.
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced MS Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
