Project Director Role Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Project Director to lead our project delivery team. As a highly respected professional in the field, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of small to medium-scale projects from initiation to closure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Execution & Coordination: Define, document, and execute project plans with precision, ensuring timely completion and adherence to set objectives.
  • Project Estimation & Planning: Estimate costs, timescales, and resource requirements for effective project delivery, aligning with agreed-upon terms of reference.
  • Tracking & Reporting: Develop realistic project plans, maintain progress tracking, and provide regular, accurate reports to stakeholders, fostering transparency and trust.
  • Leadership & Team Management: Provide inspirational leadership to the project team, driving motivation, skill development, and performance excellence.
  • Resource Management & Development: Facilitate resource requests, training, and oversight to enhance team member skills, ensuring continuous growth and improvement.
  • Change Management: Effectively manage change control procedures to ensure deliverables meet planned cost, time, and resource budgets, securing stakeholder buy-in.
  • Compliance & Configuration Management: Periodically review change management and configuration management processes, collaborating with operations management as necessary.
  • Project Closure & Review: Ensure formal project closure, documenting lessons learned and producing necessary documentation for reviews.
  • Business Readiness & Engagement: Report on business readiness targets, engagement activities, training design, key operational metrics, and return-to-productivity measures.
  • Quality Assurance & Progress Monitoring: Monitor and report project progress using quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with organizational standards and methods.
  • Business Continuity & Compliance: Develop and maintain project business continuity plans, monitoring compliance with business continuity and organizational processes.

Requirements:

  • Typically 12-15 years' experience in multi-disciplinary environments, particularly on major projects.
  • Five to ten years' experience in cross-functional leadership roles in project/operations environments.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Qualification: Postgraduate or Graduate degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Certifications: Professional Project Management Certification (preferably from PMI).
