Job Title: Capital Cost Estimator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare comprehensive capital cost estimates.
  • Offer expert advice on building economics, tendering procedures and contract arrangements.
  • Develop and draft contract packages including guidance on amendments to standard forms.
  • Create pricing documents for tender packages.
  • Provide strategic advice on tendering procedures.
  • Compose clear instructions to tenderers.
  • Establish effective tender evaluation criteria.
  • Draft PQQ questionnaires with consideration for commercial imperatives.
  • Evaluate all tender submissions commercially and negotiate with tenderers.
  • Ascertain accurate amounts due to contractors for price variation.
  • Measure and quantify claims.
  • Compile and disseminate monthly Cost Reports.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

  • A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering would be advantageous with 5 to 10 years' experience.
  • Strong comprehension of QS & cost management processes.
  • The ability to interpret drawings for quantification.
  • Chartered QS under a recognized organization such as RICS, SCSI, AIQS, NZIQS etc.
  • IT literacy and proficiency with MS Office.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential.
  • Strategic problem-solving skills with an aptitude to work rapidly and accurately under pressure.
  • Ability to coordinate with other staff and departments across Global offices located in the US.
  • Organized self-starters who are attentive to detail and able to work independently.
