About the Role:

 

This leadership role is responsible for guiding a team of experienced data engineers in designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data processing systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in big data technologies, software engineering, and experience with cloud-based platforms like Azure.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of data engineers in the development of scalable data processing systems
  • Design and implement efficient data pipelines using Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and Python
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data into Azure PaaS offerings (Synapse, ADLS, DataBricks, Event Hubs, CosmosDB, Azure ML)
  • Develop expertise in infrastructure as code and automate production data and ML pipelines
  • Migrate on-premises applications to cloud-based platforms preferably in Azure

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or Applied Science
  • 5+ years' experience in Data Engineering and/or Software Engineering
  • Strong coding skills using various Microsoft and web development technologies
  • Experience working with large amounts of data and expertise in various .Net development tools and products
  • Hands-on work in on-prem to cloud migration, preferably in Azure
  • Azure experience as it pertains to PaaS (Platform as a Service) offerings
  • Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, problem-solving and analytical skills
