This role is an exciting opportunity to join Amazon's Transportation Financial Systems team as a Senior Software Development Manager. Job Overview
The successful candidate will lead a team of 8-12 engineers within Transport Financial System, ensuring growth of SDEs reporting to them via long term technical solves built by their team. They will also own implementing company and org wide policies for health and security of our systems, and for managing Operational Load in running these systems at Amazon scale. Additionally, they will drive innovation and next-gen solution vision for their area in collaboration with Sr SDEs and PEs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of 8-12 engineers within Transport Financial System
- Create technical roadmap for the team in close collaboration with TFS Product Management and internal clients/stakeholders
- Implement company and org wide policies for health and security of our systems, and for managing Operational Load in running these systems at Amazon scale
- Drive innovation and next-gen solution vision for the area in collaboration with Sr SDEs and PEs
Requirements
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 2+ years of engineering team management experience
- 8+ years of leading the infrastructure creation for web services
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teamsExperience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
