Job Description
The Cabin Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of guest cabins, public areas, and other spaces onboard the ship. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in hallways, lounges, staircases, and shared facilities
- Managing waste disposal in adherence to ship protocols
- Monitoring cleaning supplies and guest amenities, ensuring timely restocking
- Reporting inventory shortages or replenishment needs to supervisors
- Sorting, washing, drying, ironing, and folding linens and clothing as required
- Working effectively with the housekeeping team to ensure timely task completion
- Coordinating with other departments, such as maintenance or front desk, for seamless service delivery
- Responding promptly to guest requests for additional items or services
- Addressing guest concerns courteously, escalating unresolved issues to supervisors
- Following health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including environmental policies
- Participating in mandatory safety training and drills
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 1-2 years of housekeeping experience, ideally in hospitality or a cruise/yacht environment
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Certification in hospitality is a plus
- Strong attention to detail
- Good time-management and multitasking abilities
- Basic proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous
- The ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and long hours on feet
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and adjusting to ship motion
