Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Specialist to join our team at Risk Resources LLP. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining data governance policies, standards, and processes across the organization to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and enforce data governance policies and standards to ensure data quality and security.
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of data governance tools such as Collibra, Alation, and Ataccama.
  • Define and maintain the organization's data taxonomy and metadata management framework.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with data governance requirements.
  • Establish data lifecycle management processes and guidelines.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with data governance regulations and standards.
  • Manage data stewardship programs and provide guidance to data stewards across the organization.
  • Conduct data quality assessments and implement initiatives to improve data quality.
  • Develop and deliver data governance training and awareness programs.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand and address their data governance needs and requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in implementing and managing data governance solutions such as Collibra, Alation, or Ataccama.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
  • Experience in metadata management and data classification.
  • Knowledge of data quality assessment and improvement techniques.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, or industry-specific regulations.
  • Ability to develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Relevant certifications in data governance or related fields (e.g. CDMP, DGSP, CIMP) would be a plus.
