We are seeking a seasoned expert in data engineering to assume the role of SQL specialist. This is a remote opportunity ideal for professionals with strong development experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze, debug, and resolve complex data issues across multiple related tables.
  • Write advanced SQL queries using joins, CTEs, window functions, temp tables, and nested queries.
  • Perform schema-level fixes and implement rollback logic using tools like Phinx, Flyway, or Liquibase.
  • Collaborate with product and QA teams to validate fixes, create data validation test cases, and ensure reproducibility.
  • Document root cause analysis (RCA) clearly and communicate solutions with stakeholders.
  • Work with ticket management systems for tracking, tagging, and maintaining proper workflow.
Must-Have Skills
  • Advanced SQL Development – hands-on experience with complex joins, aggregations, and performance optimization.
  • Data Remediation Expertise – ability to debug and fix production data issues.
  • Database Migration & Rollback Experience – familiarity with schema migrations and rollback tools.
  • Data Validation & QA – ability to design and execute validation steps to ensure accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and root cause documentation skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience in ETL processes, data pipelines, or big data technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud databases.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
