Job Title: Road Safety Specialist

This is a challenging role that requires the ability to lead and implement road safety strategies across the state. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively with stakeholders and be able to develop and implement effective solutions to reduce traffic fatalities and enhance roadway safety.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Policy & Strategy
      • Develop, implement, and periodically review the State Road Safety Policy and Action Plan.
      • Advise on alignment of state initiatives with national road safety frameworks and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
      • Develop guidelines and standards for safe road infrastructure, signage, and traffic management.
    • Infrastructure Planning & Design
      • Evaluate design and safety aspects of new and existing road projects, including highways, urban roads, intersections, and vulnerable user zones.
      • Recommend countermeasures for high-risk road features and provide technical support to ensure compliance with state and national regulations.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of road safety principles and practices, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
