Artificial Intelligence Engineering Lead

T3, a leading provider of AI solutions for Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) and Responsible AI, is expanding its offerings in the intersection of these fields.

We are collaborating with regulators, standards bodies, and highly regulated industries to establish the benchmark for trustworthy AI. This requires shaping architecture, leading delivery, and integrating open-source AI testing and assurance libraries into deployable frameworks.

The Role: Tech Lead – Responsible AI Engineering

We seek a seasoned professional with significant experience in AI and machine learning who can shape architecture and lead delivery in a fast-growing domain. This could be a senior engineer with several years of industry or applied research experience, or an exceptional graduate/post-doctoral researcher from leading institutions.

You will work closely with T3's Responsible AI specialists and regulatory experts, helping to translate governance and compliance principles into robust, real-world technology. This is a foundational leadership role, combining the stability of a permanent position with the upside of equity participation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and lead the architecture of new systems.
  • Integrate AI testing and assurance libraries into deployable frameworks.
  • Deliver lightweight, portable solutions in cloud environments.
  • Build and rigorously test models against fairness, robustness, explainability, and governance principles.
  • Implement reproducible pipelines for evaluation, benchmarking, and reporting.
  • Create dashboards and artefacts suitable for supervisors, standards bodies, and clients.
  • Partner with global Responsible AI leaders who have shaped the EU AI Act, OECD AI Principles, and FCA guidance.
  • Translate complex governance and compliance requirements into practical, engineering-led solutions.
  • Contribute to pilots, client delivery, and the long-term technical roadmap of T3's solutions.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • A proven track record of building, training, and evaluating AI/ML models.
  • Experience developing or integrating AI testing and assurance tools.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and modern ML/AI libraries.
  • Experience with cloud computing and knowledge of scaling, training, and deployment of AI models.
  • Awareness of Responsible AI frameworks.
  • Hands-on familiarity with explainability and fairness tools.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity, self-drive, and ambition to grow into a senior technical leadership role.
