We are seeking a skilled mechanical fitter to join our team in Fiji.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a qualified mechanical fitter to work in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out mechanical work on machines, performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing faults, and ensuring a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform mechanical work on machines using appropriate tools and equipment
- Replace or repair damaged parts and components as necessary
- Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency
- Carry out all fitting tasks in the factory and perform general machinery repairs
- Ensure availability of spare parts for all machines
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to assess machinery condition and make repairs
- Diagnose faults in machinery and equipment, and determine appropriate repair solutions
- Assist in training and mentoring apprentices or junior fitters
- Work in accordance with safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
- Close off job sheets in a timely manner and maintain neat and tidy work areas
- Utilize proper tools and welding equipment for efficient job completion
- Inspect fabricated components to ensure correct size
- Trade certificate in fitting/machining
- 3 years of experience as a fitter in repair and maintenance of a continuous food process industry
- Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
- Proficiency in fitting and machining, and settings of various machines at the plant
- Ability to work independently and possess good communication and teamwork skills
We offer a competitive package including:
- 3 years contract, renewable for another 3 years based on performance
- Increased wages for a period of another 3 years if contract is renewed
- 1 round trip airfare (India-Fiji-India) every 3 years
- Free accommodation in Fiji and free travel to work
- Sick Leave: 10 days per year, Annual Leave: 10 days per year, gazetted holidays listed by the Govt of Fiji
