Job Summary
As a Piping Stress Engineer, you will be responsible for applying advanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods. With minimal supervision, you will expand your knowledge and skill set in the area of piping discipline.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement CAESAR II models for piping systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct pipe flexibility and stress analysis to identify potential issues and optimize system performance.
- Evaluate the effects of support settlement, safety relief valves, seismic loads, slug loads, thermal cycle loads, and wind on piping systems.
- Select and specify proper springs for necessary support.
- Analyze Jacketed Piping systems, FRP Piping systems, and Expansion joints piping systems, considering the effects of modular design and transit phase.
- Evaluate stress, displacement, forces, and moments on restraints for support design and piping loads within allowable nozzle loads.
- Perform nozzle flexibility (WRC) and stress analysis, as well as flange leak checks.
- Utilize dynamic analysis capabilities, including modal, harmonic, and response spectrum analysis.
- Prepare data sheets for Expansion joints, spring hanger data sheets, and update Pipe support standards.
- Prepare stress analysis reports.
- Maintain knowledge of piping codes and standards, such as ASME, API, IBR, and others.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Ability to drive results and prioritize tasks.
- Strong planning, delegation, and directing skills.
- Effective conflict management and communication skills.
- Ability to inform, listen, and deal with ambiguity.
- Building effective teams and intermediate knowledge of engineering design principles.
- Engineering degree in a mechanical discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry, with experience in both onshore and/or offshore facilities, FLNG projects, and Power Generation sector.
- At least 3 years of experience in offshore oil/gas fields or FLNG projects.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Experience with Caesar II software.
Most positions require professional registration or licensure in the designated home office country or active pursuit of such registration.
