Job Title: Radiology Medical Coder

 

About the Role

The role of a Radiology Medical Coder is to accurately assign medical codes for diagnostic and therapeutic radiology procedures. The coder will work closely with radiologists, billing staff, and auditors to ensure compliance with federal regulations and quality standards.

  • A key responsibility of the Radiology Medical Coder will be to review and analyze radiology reports to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes.

  • The coder will also collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve coding discrepancies and promote a culture of excellence.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification

  • A minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience in radiology coding, preferably with a focus on MIPS Coding

  • In-depth knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes, as well as familiarity with payer-specific rules and LCD/NCD policies
