Job Description:

As a Product Design Director, you will lead the design team and be the lead for our design strategy. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our company by designing and releasing intuitive and powerful solutions that will empower both our internal teams and external users.

In this role, you'll build and lead a team of talented product designers, setting a vision for user experience across our products. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to ensure designs not only meet user needs but also push the boundaries of what is possible with AI.

Responsibilities:

  • Design Strategy - Define and drive the holistic design vision for our products, ensuring a consistent, high-quality user experience across internal and external applications. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in AI, UX, and product design.
  • Team Leadership - Lead, mentor, and grow a team of product designers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Work with HR, learning & development team to influence and evolve career frameworks in alignment with organization goals and talent aspirations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Collaborate with cross-functional leaders in product management, engineering, and data science to align on product strategy, goals, and roadmaps.
  • User Advocacy - Advocate for the user through research, testing, and feedback, ensuring design decisions are informed by a deep understanding of user needs and behaviors.
  • Design Systems – Maintain and establish a centralized design system with standards, patterns, and best practices for designing with AI, including data visualization, trust, and transparency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent.

Required Skills:

  • 12+ years of experience in product design within a technology or product-centric company.
  • Proven experience leading a team of designers who design and ship AI-powered products or features.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional design skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of user-centered design principles.
  • Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, with a track record of using data to inform design decisions.
  • Excellent relationship management skills working in a technical environment with cross-functional teams across product, engineering, operations and internal sales/consulting teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex design concepts and strategies to a variety of audiences.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Previous experience working on AI-powered products and/or curiosity about the rapidly evolving landscape and its impact on design and user experience.
