Hiring for Associate & Senior Associate - Indirect Tax Litigation job seekers in Mumbai

  • Key Qualification: CA/Lawyer/CA + Lawyer with a strong academic background
  • 1-5 Years of experience in indirect tax, GST/Customs
  • Assisting clients during searches, investigations and audits.
  • Preparing replies to show cause notices.
  • Representing clients before tax authorities and courts.

Job Responsibilities:

Client Service Delivery: Proactively identify technical issues with clients while being mindful of firm risk concerns. Handle tax matters such as preparation of submissions, replies to notices, appeals etc., meetings with tax authorities, representation during appeals along with seniors.

Develop Commercial Acumen: Stay up-to-date with firm-wide and competitor activities, general business trends. Apply this knowledge to deliver solutions to clients.

Networking & Identification of Opportunities: Identify new opportunities for existing clients and communicate to senior colleagues. Network internally within the peer group and other levels in the firm to gain understanding of issues impacting clients. Mentor junior team members on their working practices.

Strong Knowledge Base: Stay abreast with the latest developments in tax and other laws. Contribute to the knowledge management activities of the organization.

  • Preparing tax appeals to be filed at the Joint Commissioner (Appeals), Tribunal – (required)
  • Assisting seniors before departmental authorities/courts for hearing in medium/heavy matters (required)
  • Preparing tax appeals to be filed at the Court (i.e. High Court / Supreme Court) – (Preferred)
