Expert Warehouse Management Consultant

A key role in our organization is that of the Expert Warehouse Management Consultant. This specialist has a significant impact on the operational efficiency and effectiveness of warehouse operations.

  • Lead the technical design and implementation of warehouse management developments across multiple projects, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Develop custom enhancements using ABAP, BAdIs, BAPIs, Enhancement Framework, and EWM-specific objects to optimize business processes.
  • Guide the team on RF development, SmartForms, and performance-optimized coding to ensure high-quality solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical designs, driving innovation and growth.
  • Review code quality, enforce development best practices, and mentor junior developers to maintain a high level of expertise within the team.
  • Own integration scenarios between warehouse management and modules like materials management, sales and distribution, transportation management, and external systems via IDoc, RFC, Proxy, etc.
  • Provide expertise in system performance tuning, debugging, and issue resolution to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Support full-cycle implementation: blueprinting, development, testing, go-live, and hypercare to ensure smooth project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of SAP EWM architecture, technical objects, and warehouse processes to drive informed decision-making.
  • Hands-on experience in RFUI development, SmartForms, WebDynpro/FPM, and object-oriented ABAP to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • In-depth understanding of warehouse orders/tasks, queues, and resource/process management to optimize business processes.
  • Proven experience in SAP S/4HANA EWM (embedded or decentralized) to ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Strong integration experience (IDoc/ALE, BAPIs, OData services, Web Services) to drive innovation and growth.
  • Experience in leading development teams, code reviews, and project deliveries to maintain a high level of expertise within the team.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:
  • 7+ years of SAP ABAP development experience, with 4+ years focused on EWM, to demonstrate depth of knowledge and expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field to provide a solid foundation in computer science principles.
