  • Perform thermal analysis on package substrates, PCBs, and enclosures to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with external vendors to design and manufacture thermal solutions.
  • Develop and implement thermal models using tools like Ansys Icepack or Flotherm from Cadence layout designs.
  • Work closely with the design team to define thermal requirements during the architecture phase.
  • Design and optimize heatsinks, heat spreaders, and fans to effectively dissipate heat.
  • Measure and correlate thermal gradients in the lab to validate simulations.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of package PCB designs, stack-up, and material properties.
  • Ability to calculate air flow requirements and optimize thermal performance.
  • Proficiency in APD and Cadence PCB editor to navigate and modify designs.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, thermal, and mechanical requirements for packages and PCBs.
  • Bachelor's degree and 5-10 years of industry experience.
