We are seeking a skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the billing department, you will be responsible for managing the billing process to ensure timely and accurate submission of claims, efficient processing of payments, and adherence to industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Claims Processing: Oversee the accurate and timely processing of claims, ensuring compliance with payer guidelines and regulations.
- Billing Discrepancies: Review and address billing discrepancies, rejections, and denials, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Billing Policies: Develop and implement billing policies and procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Coding and Documentation: Collaborate with coding, compliance, and other departments to ensure accurate coding and documentation.
- Billing Data Analysis: Analyse billing data and metrics to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for process improvements.
- Follow-up and Appeals: Ensure proper follow-up on unpaid or denied claims and manage the appeals process.
- Billing Software and EHR Systems: Oversee the use of billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning properly.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about changes in U.S. revenue cycle management practices and federal regulations to ensure billing processes remain compliant and optimized.
- Training and Guidance: Provide guidance and training to the billing team on evolving industry standards and policy updates.
To succeed in this role, you will require a Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, finance, or a related field. Proven experience with billing systems, payer guidelines, and regulatory compliance is essential. Strong analytical skills and excellent communication and collaboration skills are also required.
This is a 5-day week position with a 10-hour night shift. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently.
