Lead Engineer Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Lead Engineer to lead our engineering team and take on senior project work roles. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design process, mentoring junior members, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare feasibility study reports in agreed formats and review with relevant stakeholders.
  • Assemble design specifications compliant with employer requirements.
  • Agree and monitor scope of works with relevant stakeholders.
  • Define building requirements and purpose of use with stakeholders.
  • Carry out detailed design per client requirements.
  • Review production of calculations, QA and technical reviews, and sign off.
  • Ensure project costing preparation information is completed to deadlines.
  • Coordinate project contracts documents and reviews input from team members.
  • Lead design process and encourage team to deliver solutions to agreed programs.
  • Follow document control, QA processes for drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence.
  • Manage team of Engineers and Revit Technicians.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Building Structures design with similar roles or good track records.
  • Good presentation skills required.
  • Fully conversant with technical structural software (RAM, CSC, ETABS, SAFE, STAAD).
  • Sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project essential.
  • Fluent in English with excellent technical terminology understanding.
  • Good management, communication, and technical skills, capable of working within teams and independently.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and accredited engineering body membership.
  • British Chartered Engineer status or equivalent desirable.
  • Experience: 12+ years.
