Overview

Vidya Wires Limited is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Production Lead to oversee the day-to-day production processes of its enamel-coated copper and aluminum winding wires & strips manufacturing facility. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills to ensure efficient and effective production operations.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of production workers, ensuring they are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties. They will also oversee the complete production activities, including monitoring quality control measures, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining a clean and organized production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement production plans to ensure timely production based on customer orders, inventory levels, and demand forecasts.
  • Coordinate production schedules for copper and aluminum wires & strips with the aim of optimizing production efficiency.
  • Supervise the setup of machines and equipment to ensure they are functioning properly and are in line with production schedules.
  • Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of production workers, ensuring they are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
  • Allocate tasks and responsibilities effectively, ensuring each employee has the necessary resources to complete their work.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and address any team-related issues.
  • Oversee the complete production activities, including monitoring quality control measures, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining a clean and organized production environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • At least 12-15 years of experience in a production management role, specifically in enamel wire manufacturing processes.
  • Strong understanding of winding wire production processes, particularly in the enamel coating of copper and aluminum.
  • Knowledge of quality control practices, ISO standards, and industry best practices.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, SMED, Toyota Production System, 7 QC Tools, 8D Tools, Core Tools, TPM & continuous improvement techniques.
  • Proficiency in using production planning and monitoring software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong managerial and team leadership skills with the ability to handle conflict, motivate employees, and manage production staff effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, especially in addressing production delays, quality issues, and equipment malfunctions.

Work Environment

This position may require long hours and the ability to work under pressure, especially during peak production periods. Strict adherence to safety guidelines is essential. Opportunities for advancement to higher managerial positions are available, along with ongoing professional development through training programs in manufacturing processes, quality assurance, and leadership. The estimated salary for this role is ₹20,00,000 - ₹30,00,000 per annum, depending on experience.
