DevOps Specialist Job Description

This role involves proposing and implementing advanced cloud architectures, building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure, and ensuring the continuous evolution of the client's infrastructure as code approach.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proposing and implementing advanced cloud architectures in alignment with key cloud providers such as AWS and Google.
  • Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure to support business operations.
  • Ensuring no single points of failure in the infrastructure.
  • Continuously improving efficiency when setting up new cloud infrastructure and maintaining existing instances.

The successful candidate will require experience with Docker, Linux systems management, Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD tools, and a solid programming/scripting language. Additionally, experience with application and system monitoring tools, web servers, database systems, caching, queues, and automation in a microservice/SOA architecture is essential.

This position requires a strong understanding of cloud computing, DevOps practices, and security principles. The ideal candidate will be able to bridge the gap between Security and DevOps teams and play a pivotal part in implementing security recommendations while supporting sales, compliance, and delivery in audits and RFPs.

Requirements
  • Experience with Docker.
  • Experience with Linux systems management.
  • Proven experience in Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Git, GitHub, BitBucket or Stash.
  • Experience with CI and CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo or similar).
  • Solid Experience with at least a programming/scripting language (Python, Ruby, Bash, GO, Java, Node.js, PHP).
  • Experience with application and system monitoring tools (such as Datadog, Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, ElasticSearch, Kibana).
  • Experience in the configuration, management and troubleshooting of web servers (Apache, NGINX), database systems (SQL and NoSQL), caching (Cassandra, Redis, Memcache or others) and queues (RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ or similar).
  • Experience working as a DevSecOps or Cloud Engineer in an agile and fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a continuous integration/deploy environment.
  • Experience with AWS.
  • Automation experience in the context of a microservice/SOA architecture.
