Job Title: VFX Mentor

Description:
We are a growing special effects studio seeking an experienced supervisor to mentor and direct our artists in the field of VFX. Our team is based in Indonesia, specializing in VFX for Japanese films. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Hollywood film productions and be able to provide teaching on various aspects of VFX.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide Houdini software training from basic to advanced levels in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Prioritize teaching RBD Fracture Simulation, Cloth Simulation, Water Simulation, Fire Simulation, Crowd Simulation, Grain Simulation, and Plant Instance Simulation.
  • Teach effective Lookdev techniques to achieve convincing results for clients.
  • Develop solutions for integration between Houdini and Autodesk Maya or Blender.
  • Offer mentoring and teaching to enhance individual skills of in-house VFX artists.
  • Share industry insights and experiences as a VFX artist in global cinema.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a VFX Supervisor for film, animation, or TV series.
  • In-depth knowledge of the overall VFX workflow and production process.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with Houdini.
  • Knowledge of compositing principles (Nuke preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of the Blender workflow is a plus.
  • Portfolio demonstrating excellent skills and creative approach.
  • Solid understanding of 3D modeling, lighting, and rendering techniques in Maya or Houdini.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Artistic skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Enthusiasm and creativity.
  • Proficiency in the English language.
