Product Development Leader

We seek a Product Development Leader to oversee the entire product development cycle. This role involves transforming ideas into market-ready solutions while fostering an environment that values creativity, collaboration, and cutting-edge technology.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive product innovation roadmap that supports the overall business strategy and responds proactively to market dynamics.
  • Lead efforts to instill a culture of creativity, adaptability, and continuous improvement throughout the team.
  • Closely collaborate with cross-functional leaders in marketing, manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain management to ensure cohesive project alignment for successful product launches.
  • Guide the team in crafting innovative prototypes and scalable designs that push the boundaries of current technological capabilities.
  • Review and validate technical documentation, ensuring high standards are upheld through design reviews and rigorous validation protocols.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies relevant to our product portfolio, identifying potential applications to enhance innovation.
  • Maintain a strong focus on timely delivery, budget compliance, and meeting quality benchmarks.
  • Prioritise product development initiatives based on their strategic significance, technical viability, and resource allocation.
  • Implement and optimise robust development processes, such as stage-gate and agile methodologies, balancing project risks while ensuring progression towards goals.
  • Manage, mentor, and build a high-performing team of engineers with diverse backgrounds, promoting professional growth and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Establish clear performance measurements, conduct regular assessments, and support career pathing for team members.
  • Encourage a collaborative and inclusive workspace that enhances interdepartmental communication, creativity, and accountability.
  • Act as the main technical liaison for internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and partners in innovation.
  • Deliver impactful project updates, share technical insights, and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership, ensuring they are informed and engaged.

Background & Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
  • PhD is a plus.
  • 12+ years of experience in product development, in addition 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • A proven track record of launching successful products in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
  • Strong knowledge of product lifecycle management, design thinking, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Exposure to global product development and multicultural team leadership.
  • Experience with new product development, smart technologies.
  • Familiarity with tools such as CAD, PLM systems, and project management software.
