Hydrological Modeling Expert

We are seeking a highly experienced professional to join our team as a hydrological modeling specialist. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil Engineering with postgraduate experience in Hydraulic or Hydrology and at least 15 years of experience in hydrological and hydraulic modeling using advanced tools such as MIKE, HEC-HMS, etc.

The successful candidate will have expertise in dam break analysis, flood routing, inundation mapping, operational protocols of dams, and preparation of Emergency Action Plans (EAPs). They will have a strong background in state-of-the-art mathematical models and experience in preparing EAPs for large dam projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert for all tasks related to Dam Break Analysis and Inundation Mapping.
  • Lead the preparation and finalization of Tier-I documents following international best practices.
  • Provide technical support for the development and finalization of Emergency Action Plans (EAPs).
  • Facilitate stakeholder consultation meetings and review plans presented by Project Support Teams (PSTs).
  • Design and deliver customized training courses on Dam Break Analysis, Inundation Mapping, EAPs, and capacity building programs for DRIP Implementing Agencies (IAs).
  • Perform integrated flood routing studies for cascades of reservoirs and assist in the finalization of integrated operations of important or cascade reservoirs.
  • Undertake need-based flood routing studies, conduct dam safety inspections, and manage related documentation and communication.
  • Develop and implement training calendars and schedules aligned with the annual DRIP Calendar.
  • Contribute data and insights to the National Dam Safety Information System and Management Information System (MIS).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Postgraduate experience in Hydraulic or Hydrology.
  • At least 15 years of experience in hydrological and hydraulic modeling using advanced tools such as MIKE, HEC-HMS, etc.
  • Expertise in dam break analysis, flood routing, inundation mapping, operational protocols of dams, and preparation of Emergency Action Plans (EAPs).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
