Job Title: Automotive Specialist

Job Description:

The primary function of this role is to develop end-to-end diagnostic content for automotive systems, encompassing engine management, electric and hybrid systems, brake control, infotainment, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), transmission, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), and airbags.

  • Creation of comprehensive diagnostic workflows and test sequences using integrated development environments (IDEs) like BDX or Grade-X.
  • Analysis of vehicle communication bus logs utilizing various analyzers.
  • Simulation of automotive systems employing simulator solutions in conjunction with original equipment (OE) testers.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implementation of test sequences and workflows tailored to the specific needs of our team.
  • Evaluation of OE diagnostic data, derivation of insightful conclusions, and implementing these insights within target testers.
  • On-vehicle validation of implemented diagnostic content and generation of detailed test reports.

Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of vehicle systems, encompassing sub-systems and components.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot vehicles to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Capacity to comprehend OE system descriptions, service, and repair manuals.
  • Able to operate and maintain diagnostic testers independently.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with analysis and simulation tools from Vector or Samtec (e.g., HSX, HS+).
  • Proficiency with Diag Help Tool.
  • Handling of multiple OEM testers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering.
