Job Title: Senior Engineer - Advantec Controls

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our dynamic team at Carrier. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, commissioning, and managing project implementation for building automation systems (BAS) and chiller plant manager (CPM) related systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop detailed engineering designs and specifications for BMS, including HVAC controls, lighting controls, security systems, and other integrated systems.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to understand project requirements and design systems that meet technical and operational needs.
  • Utilize CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) to create layout drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams for BMS installations.
  • Lead the commissioning process for various systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications and performance requirements.
  • Develop commissioning plans, conduct tests, and troubleshoot systems to optimize performance.
  • Provide training and technical support to clients and end-users on system operation and maintenance.
  • Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget constraints.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to clarify project requirements and expectations.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement effective solutions to achieve project goals.
Requirements:
  • Diploma/Bachelors degree in Instrumentation engineering, Electrical engineering, Electronics engineering, Mechanical engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency in programming and configuring BAS components such as controllers, sensors, actuators, and communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, etc.).
  • Proficiency in chiller plant operations, controls, and HVAC system design principles.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in designing and commissioning BAS and CPM related systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with specific BAS platforms such as Siemens Desigo, Johnson Controls Metasys, Honeywell Niagara, Distech, etc.
  • Experience with specific chiller plant manufacturers and controls systems (e.g. Trane, Johnson Controls).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD/BIM software.
  • Familiarity with energy management and sustainability practices related to chiller plant operations.
  • Knowledge of LEED certification, and sustainability practices in building automation.
