We're seeking an experienced Mathematics Specialist to join our team as we continue to push the boundaries of artificial intelligence. If you have a strong background in mathematics and a passion for analytical work, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

 

About the Role:

  • This is a remote position that will involve working on projects fine-tuning large language models using your analytical and English comprehension skills.
  • The ideal candidate should have a solid foundation in mathematics and be able to break down complex concepts into clear explanations.
  • You will design and solve challenging math problems to probe the limitations of large language models and collaborate with researchers to align problem types with evaluation goals.
  • Contribute to defining new evaluation benchmarks based on mathematics curricula spanning early undergraduate to PhD-level topics.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and solve challenging math problems to probe the limitations of large language models.
  • Develop high-quality solutions with clear and rigorous reasoning.
  • Collaborate with LLM researchers to align problem types with evaluation goals.
  • Contribute to defining new evaluation benchmarks based on mathematics curricula.

Requirements:

  • A strong background in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field is required.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills are essential.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations.
  • Creative and lateral thinking abilities.
  • Excellent structured communication and collaboration skills in a remote setting.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Desktop/Laptop set up with a good internet connection.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze and solve complex math problems with a structured approach.
  • Ability to explain math concepts clearly using simple language, visuals, and examples.
