Job Overview

The role of a Cyber Security Analyst is to safeguard an organization's IT infrastructure, applications, and data from cyber threats. This position involves monitoring systems, detecting vulnerabilities, investigating security incidents, and implementing protective measures to ensure compliance and business continuity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor networks, servers, and endpoints for suspicious activity to identify potential security risks.
  • Analyze alerts from SIEM tools to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
  • Identify, investigate, and escalate potential security incidents to minimize their impact on the organization.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to strengthen the organization's defenses.
  • Patch and remediate identified security gaps to prevent exploitation by attackers.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging cyber threats to inform risk-based decisions and maintain a proactive approach to security.
  • Assist in developing and executing incident response procedures to ensure effective management of security events.
  • Investigate breaches, document findings, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Coordinate with IT teams to contain and recover from security events, minimizing downtime and disruption to critical services.
  • Manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and encryption tools to maintain a secure computing environment.
  • Implement security best practices across applications and infrastructure to ensure consistent protection.
  • Support identity and access management (IAM) processes to ensure that only authorized users have access to sensitive data and systems.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks such as ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC2, etc., to maintain compliance and avoid fines.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed security documentation, logs, and audit reports to track and analyze security events.
  • Provide regular updates to management on the organization's security posture to inform strategic decision-making.
