Cloud Data Architect Lead

We are seeking a seasoned data professional to lead the design and implementation of our cloud-based enterprise data solutions. As a Cloud Data Architect Lead, you will be responsible for aligning business requirements with technical capabilities and driving strategic decisions on cloud data architecture.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, developing, and managing large-scale data systems using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable architectures and implement data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.

This role requires a strong background in cloud data architecture, data warehousing, big data processing, and data integration. Experience with GCP data services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer, and Data Catalog is essential. Proficiency in data modeling, data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT pipelines, and big data processing frameworks is also required.

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with 6-8 years of experience in data architecture and engineering roles, is necessary. At least 3 years of hands-on experience with GCP is preferred. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and adaptability are key qualities for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and architect end-to-end data solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into scalable architectures.
  • Implement data governance, security, and compliance frameworks for cloud-based data platforms.
  • Lead data migration and modernization initiatives from on-premise or other cloud platforms to GCP.
  • Stay updated with GCP services, features, and industry best practices to recommend improvements and innovation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in data architecture and engineering roles, with at least 3 years hands-on on GCP.
  • Strong expertise in GCP data services: BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer, Data Catalog.
  • Proficient in data modeling, data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT pipelines, and big data processing frameworks.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, and Terraform (preferred) for infrastructure as code.
  • Hands-on experience in data security, encryption, access control, and governance on GCP.
