The role of an agricultural specialist involves overseeing farming operations and production planning to meet consumer demands.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the cluster's production and operational activities.
  • Responsible for creating and implementing production plans, managing logistics and customer delivery metrics in the cluster.
  • Work closely with the sales team to obtain market forecasts and plan production accordingly to provide a continuous supply of products as needed by consumers.
  • Establish relationships with network farmers and execute contracting farming activities in compliance with best practices.
  • Mobilise suitable farmers, motivate, train and guide them to adopt regenerative organic production methods as per protocols.
  • Monitor farming activities to ensure adherence to guidelines and prevent chemical usage.
  • Oversee the management of collection centres at each Regional Agricultural Centre (RAC), including receiving vegetables from network farmers, sorting, grading and storage.
  • Ensure produce quality and work collaboratively with operations teams to supply produce to the Collection centre / Distribution Centre.
  • Develop RAC-level input production plans in accordance with vegetable production plans.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to implement best practices in regenerative agriculture and provide feedback from the field to the Centre of Excellence.
  • Analyse costs and identify opportunities for cost optimisation across all activities.
