Forensic Investigator for Global Finance Operations

The Vendor Investigations and Transaction Accuracy (VITA) team within Global Finance Operations (FinOps) is responsible for identifying, preventing, and recovering erroneous, fraudulent or wasteful payments to vendors globally. As a Forensic Investigator, you will play a crucial role in conducting comprehensive investigations to identify business problems and root causes, and prescribing relevant controls.
You will work with product and program managers, machine learning teams, risk SMEs across areas, as well as stakeholders outside of VITA based on business requirements. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Delivering results by conducting assigned forensic investigations in a timely manner using data analysis and other tools.
- Displaying high ownership throughout investigation life cycle by defining investigation requirements, facilitating and reporting progress, and identifying blockers and providing resolutions/workarounds.
- Insisting on high standards by writing effective deep dive documents summarizing findings and proposing solutions.
- Identifying gaps and risks in current mechanisms and policies and recommending solutions to policy owning teams.
- Conducting effective communication of results and updates to stakeholders.
- Driving broader risk mitigation activities by working with other teams such as Internal Audit or Loss Prevention (LP).
- Providing effective coaching/guidance to team members for cross-skilling.
This role requires a highly motivated individual with 5+ years of relevant experience in risk management areas such as internal/external audit or forensic investigations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with teams across different global locations, high ownership, and deliver results independently. A Bachelor's degree in accounting with professional certifications such as CA, CWA, or CFE is preferred. Additionally, experience in Retail or e-commerce will be beneficial. Technical skills in SQL and the ability to manage, analyze, and communicate results to senior management are also required.
