Product Development Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative products that meet the needs of our customers.

  1. You will work closely with suppliers to source and develop high-quality components, ensuring that they meet our rigorous standards for manufacturability and performance.
  2. Your strong foundation in sourcing and developing structural or mechanical assemblies will enable you to create efficient and cost-effective designs that meet our customers' needs.
  3. This position is ideal for someone with experience in designing and developing automotive interiors or accessories, as well as experience with large or load-bearing components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and prototype wheelchair frames, drive modules, and ergonomic components.
  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs and trends.
  • Engineer lightweight, robust load-bearing structures using finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Integrate motors, batteries, and control systems with structural design.
  • Collaborate with vendors for precision fabrication and quality delivery.
  • Conduct testing for durability, safety, and compliance.
  • Optimize materials and processes for cost, weight, and performance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of product specifications, changes, and manufacturing processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • 2-4 years' experience in product development, preferably in mobility, automotive, or structural products.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and prototyping.
  • Experience with EV/mechatronic systems is a plus.
