Job Title: Production Merchandiser

We are seeking an experienced Production Merchandiser to oversee product development, merchandising, sourcing, supplier management, and logistics coordination.

About the Role
  • Manage product development from material sourcing to supplier negotiations and timely production as per design.
  • Ensure all raw materials, job workers, and internal and external production teams are aligned for timely delivery of production.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, evaluate, and present pre-development samples.
  • Monitor and evaluate product performance in terms of fit, construction, and durability, making necessary adjustments.
Cost Optimization and Sourcing
  • Negotiate with suppliers and vendors on costing to achieve best pricing without compromising on quality and timelines.
  • Find alternative solutions and suppliers to achieve cost savings.
Dispatch and Payments Management
  • Make bills of material for bulk orders and production runs.
  • Source and develop raw materials, trims, and accessories, as well as job workers.
  • Manage dispatches, coordinate with courier partners, invoices, and payments across all vendors.
Supplier and Vendor Relationship Management
  • Identify and work with suppliers and manufacturers to source materials and production services.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors to ensure cost-effective and high-quality production.
  • Monitor vendor performance and address any issues related to product quality, delivery, or compliance.
Quality Assurance
  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure products meet company standards and specifications.
  • Conduct inspections and oversee testing of materials and finished products to identify and resolve quality issues.
Coordination and Reporting
  • Coordinate with various teams, including Design, Production, Procurement, and Category.
  • Maintain daily detailed logs and updates for fabric, trims, and accessories development and procurement, sampling and production status, TNA update, and job work sample and production development status.
Requirements
  • 4-5 years of experience in product development, buying, merchandising, and production in a buying house, retail brand, or export house.
  • Experience working in startups is an added advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of fabrics, trims, and accessories and the factory supplier base.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills.
  • Strong organization skills.
